Nacido en 1962 en Boulder, Colorado (EUA), John Currin, se graduó en Bellas Artes en la Carnegie University, localizada en Pittsuburh, Pensilvania (EUA) y compartió el aula con el artista Lev Meshberg./ Born in 1962 at Boulder, Colorado (USA), John Currin, graduated from Fine Arts at the Carnegie University, from Pittsuburh, Pensilvania (USA) and shared the classroom with the artist  Lev Meshberg.

Influenciado, principalmente, por el renacimiento, Currin plasma en sus pinturas mujeres en situaciones altamente eróticas, las cuales causan que el espectador sienta rechazo hacia la particular forma en la que este artista transmite diversas temáticas sociales, incluso aquellos que son considerados tabúes./ Influenced, mainly by renascence, Currin recreates on his paintings women on extremely erotic scenarios, which cause rejection from the spectator towards the way the artist presents diverse social matters, even those consider social tabus.
