TEXT: DANIELA AYALA (México). Ryan Shultz nació en Libertyville en el maravilloso estado de Illinois (EUA). Desde muy joven se enseñó a pintar y durante la preparatoria, se ganó la vida vendiendo sus obras o dando clases de pintura. El esfuerzo finalmente dio frutos cuando ganó una beca completa para estudiar en la Universidad de Northwestern, donde obtuvo su maestría. / Ryan Shultz was born in Libertyville at the wonderful state of Illinois (USA). Since he was very young he self taught into painting and during high school he make his living selling his paintings or giving painting lessons. His effort finally fruited and he won a full scholarship to study at the Northwestern University, place where he got his master degree.

La obra de Ryan Shultz rinde culto al exceso: escenas de intoxicación y adicción a las drogas o al cigarro, un retrato actual de la cultura juvenil. Sus pinturas hiperrealistas tienen trazos perfectos y tan reales que nos hacen creer que son fotografías y no precisamente óleos lo que vemos. / Ryan Shultz‘s oeuvre plays homage to excess: scenes of addiction and intoxication to cigarettes and drugs, a contemporary portrait of the juvenile culture. His Hyper-realistic paintings are made with perfect strokes, they are so real that we believe they are photographs and not oil paintings what we are looking at.

Actualmente, Ryan cuenta con casi 60 exposiciones con jurado y este año participó en el National Wet Paint Exhibition, realizado en el Zhout B. Art Center de Chicago (EUA). / Currently, Ryan counts in almost 60 exhibitions with jury and this year he participated at the National Wet Paint Exhibition made at Zhout B. Art Center of Chicago (USA.)

Su trabajo es el matrimonio del presente con el pasado, retomando viejas técnicas y representando con imágenes la autodestrucción. No dejemos de seguir la trayectoria de este artista, que seguro tiene más con qué sorprendernos. / His work is a marriage of present with the past, returning to old techniques and images representing the self-destruction. Let’s not loose track of this artist, who surely has more to surprise us.

    me encanta RYAN, lo vi en WORK OF ART, y en mi opinión era el mejor pintor de esa serie, lastima que no haya llegado mas lejos, me divertí mucho con el y me sorprendió con la rapidez que pinta.
