ERWIN OLAF 'De la mar'

TEXTO: DANIELA AYALA Guadalajara (México). Erwin Olaf nació en Hilversum en los Países Bajos en 1959. Se convirtió en un ícono de la fotografía moderna mezclando tomas de estudio con fotoperiodismo, pero no fue hasta 1988 que el mundo del arte conoció a este fotógrafo por la serie ‘Chessmen’, la cual le valió el premio en la Young European Photographer Competition y posteriormente una exhibición en el Museo Ludwig en Colonia, Alemania./ Erwin Olaf was born in Hilversum (Netherlands, 1959.) He became an icon of modern photography by mixing studio photos with photo-journalism, but it was in 1988 when the art world knew this artist by his series ‘Chessmen,’ which was worth of award at the Young European Photographer Competition and later by his exhibition at the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, Germany.

Olaf cuenta con una larga lista de premios; en 1999, recibió el León de Plata del Festival de Cannes por sus fotografías para la campaña publicitaria de Diesel y dos años después lo volvió a ganar gracias a las imágenes que produjo para Heineken. En 2006, The International Color Awards le dio el premio de Fotógrafo del Año y en 2007, la
revista Kunstbeeldle dio el título de mejor artista Holandés./ Olaf has a long list of awards, in 1999, received the Silver Lion at Cannes for his photographs for the advertising campaign for Diesel, and two years later, he won again thanks to the images he produced for Heineken. In 2006, The International Color Awards gave him the award of Photographer of the Year and in 2007, Kunstbeeldle magazine gave the title of best Dutch artist.
